Personal Lines Broker

Full-time, permanent position at our Toronto office with some flexibility for occasionally working from home.

Mills Brokers Insurance Solutions is growing and we’re looking for a personal lines broker to join our team.

Our dedicated brokers build relationships with our clients by providing intelligent insurance advice and we do so in a prompt and personal manner.  Our brokers are trusted advisors, we educate our clients about insurance products and coverages, respond to their specific needs and provide claims counselling and advice when required. 

Our brokers are responsible for ensuring that all of our clients have the best coverage at the best price and for helping anticipate their future insurance needs.   We embrace digital tools and innovation to enhance the customer experience and help build our commitment to outstanding customer service.

Responsibilities:

• Assess client needs, advise clients on recommendations and execute on all important details

• Contribute to our high retention rate by supporting and retaining existing customers

• Review renewals

• Provide quotes for new business and quote existing customers

• Process new business and policy changes

• Provide superior customer service by creating an effortless and positive experience for our customers

• Demonstrate strong decision-making and analytical skills

• With experience and training, develop and understand the underwriting guidelines and processes of our insurer partners

• Act with integrity

• Educate clients on their exposures and risks and provide recommendations on ways to minimize those risks

Qualifications:

• University degree, college diploma or the equivalent combination of formal education and experience is preferred but not required

• Previous success in customer service or a strong desire to help customers

• Strong listening skills

• Excellent communication skills

• Ability to stay calm under pressure

• Positive and enthusiastic attitude

• Desire to work in a dynamic team environment

• Minimum of 1 year of customer service experience in personal lines insurance

• R.I.B.O. License
