Here is some important information to consider:
- There can be other benefits to installing anti-theft systems in your vehicles. Policyholders can qualify for insurance rebates and discounts when approved anthi-theft trackers are installed. Before going to a dealer and requesting this sort of system, it could be worthwhile to discuss this with an insurance professional.
- Install a data port lock in your vehicle. A data port lock is a cap that encases a key diagnostics port to prevent thieves from bypassing and reprogramming the vehicle.
- Parking a vehicle in a locked garage is the most secure option.
- Protect the outside of your home with lights and security cameras
- Store keys away from doors and windows and make sure they are not visible from the outside. Keeping keys in an aluminum or metal box is also a good idea
