WoodGreen Community Services is one of Toronto’s largest social service agencies serving close to 40,000 people each year with more than 75+ integrated programs and wrap-around services delivered from 40 service locations that work to enhance self-sufficiency, promote wellbeing and reduce poverty through innovative solutions to critical social needs.
2022 marks WoodGreen’s 85th year of service to Toronto!
Every year WoodGreen tackles our community's most challenging issues, including:
Providing youth with new pathways to opportunity, including those ‘aging out’ of the child welfare system
Helping newcomers settle into life in Canada and find meaningful employment
Breaking the cycle of poverty for struggling single mothers and their children
Nurturing children through child care centres, after-4 programming and special needs resourcing
Helping seniors and people with disabilities to live with dignity while remaining in their community
Providing food and safety to hungry, homeless and marginalized individuals through affordable housing and supportive services
WoodGreen Community Services is also a United Way Anchor Agency, we combine significant scale and have a proven track record with an entrepreneurial mindset, continuously seeking and developing innovative solutions to critical social needs.
2022 Food Drive Program — Here’s how you can get involved!
Food Drive Program: WoodGreen has seen a steep increase in food insecurity throughout the pandemic, and in recent months with inflation and other challenges, we are getting more and more requests for help. The number of clients attending our food banks is increasing, we are seeing more seniors, youth, newcomers and refugees than we had in the past.
WHEN: May 16th – June 13th, 2022
WHERE : Food will be centrally collected at our office. If you would like to drop by with a donation please contact us by email contactus@millsinsruancebrokers.ca or call 416-489-5570 to let us know when to expect you.
Our office at 1201 Dundas ST E. Unit 201 Toronto, ON M4M1S2 is open Monday-Friday 9am-5pm.
WHAT TO DONATE : Volunteers can donate most needed items like canned meat, fish, vegetables, fruits & foods, cookies, crackers, granola bars, cheese, pasta, pasta sauces, cereal, tea bags, instant coffee, and a can opener would be helpful. Cleaning supplies (Lysol, Windex, Mr. Clean), paper towels, toilet paper, laundry soap, etc. are also most welcome. Our team will then create Food Care Kits and deliver the items to WoodGreen.
